AIG Brings the World of Insurance to Life for Students

AIG hosted over 400 middle school and high school students from twelve different campuses across the Houston area at its Junior Achievement Virtual Career Day. During the event, several AIG colleagues shared information about their career paths and offered advice to better prepare students for their future. Representatives from AIG’s two major business units, General Insurance and Life & Retirement, provided students with valuable guidance on how to successfully navigate and choose a career path. The volunteers shared experiences in fields including Legal, Human Resources, Technology, Sales, Marketing, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Business Strategy to help students realize the vast career options available to them. They also provided insights into how insurance companies help protect clients. The students’ interactions with such a diverse group of professionals prompted a lot of thought-provoking questions and great dialogue with the volunteers.

Thank you to JA Board Member, Joe Connelly, for endorsing and participating in the event on behalf of AIG. We are also grateful to Tor Butterfield for helping organize an amazing event and recruiting exceptional AIG volunteers. Finally, thanks to the educators and students who participated. It was an inspirational experience for all involved!
